The fuel tanker was involved in an accident near Pokuase at 2:30 and began exploding, but some eyewitnesses decided to move closer despite the danger involved in their pursuit of video.

It appears that the influx of social media and the desire to have memories of every occurrence is gradually overriding our sense of reasoning to the point where we are heading toward a death trap all in the name of taking videos and pictures.

About six months ago, a truck carrying mining explosives collided with a tricycle in Ghana, causing widespread grief throughout the country.

The incident also resulted in a serious explosion that destroyed almost the entire township of Apiate, near Bogoso in Ghana’s Western region, killing many people, particularly those who chose to move closer and take videos.
